TERMS AND CONDITIONS


 

1. PAYMENT:

1.1  Payment is required via bank transfer at least 24 hours before the lesson start time.  

1.2  Alternatively cash payment at the start of the lesson is acceptable subject to prior agreement.

1.3  Non receipt of payment before a lesson will result in lesson time being used to receive and confirm payment prior to continuation of the lesson.


 

2. CANCELLATION:

2.1  Cancelling a lesson with less than 48 hours notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.

2.2  Rescheduling a lesson is defined as the cancellation of a lesson and booking a new lesson.

2.3  Reoccurring lesson cancellations with less than 48 hour notice may result in the pupil not being offered future lessons unless cancelled lessons are paid for in full.

2.4  If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson the lesson may either be rescheduled or the lesson fee refunded.


 

3. REFUNDS:

3.1  Refunds will be offered for lessons cancelled with more than 48 hours notice, unless otherwise rebooked.

3.2  Any part refund requested for remaining time from a 10 hour block booking will be subject to adjustment of time used to date being charged at the standard hourly rate prior to calculation of the refund.

3.3  Any unused block booking time expires 6 months from date of original payment and will be non-refundable thereafter.  


 

4.  PRICING:

4.1 Current driving lesson rate/prices are displayed on the driveworthing website and may be subject to change.

4.2 Existing pupils will be provided with reasonable notice of any change to lesson prices.

4.3 The cost for use of the instructors car on test day will be based on the standard hourly rate allowing for pick up, any lesson time immediately before test, an hour for test and drop off.


 

5.  USE OF THE INSTRUCTORS CAR FOR TEST:

5.1 The instructor has a right to withhold use of the instructors car for test should the pupil not be considered test standard.  


 

6.  PUPIL:

6.1 Pupils are required to be able to read a car number plate at 20m distance.  This will be check at the start of the first lesson and prior to taking the pupil to test.  If a pupil is unable to read a number plate at 20m distance the lesson will be ended and the full lesson fee charged.

6.2 Pupils are required to bring their photo card provisional/full driving licence to their first lesson, otherwise the lesson will be ended and the full lesson fee charged.

6.3 Pupils must inform the instructor of any changes to their entitlement or ability to drive.

6.4 Sensible shoes must be worn suitable for driving.

6.5 The pupil must be in a fit state for the driving lesson. If the instructor suspects the pupil is not in a fit state to drive the lesson will be terminated and the full lesson fee charged.


 

7.  PERSONAL DATA:

7.1 Personal data is stored for administration/record purposes only.

7.2 Your data will not be processed or shared without your prior permission, except if necessary to comply with legal obligations or protection of a persons vital interests.


 

8.  COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE:

8.1 The instructor has agreed to abide by the DVSA guidance, "Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) Code of Practice" updated November 2019

8.2 If cause for complaint arises then the complaint should be made in the first instance to the instructor.  

8.3 If it is not possible within a reasonable timescale to reach an agreement or settle a dispute directly with the instructor then further guidance may be sought:

8.3(a) If a pupil believes the instructor is not providing a satisfactory business service a pupil may contact their local Citizens Advice Bureau for guidance.

8.3(b) If a pupil is unhappy with the instructor’s professional service, the pupil may contact the DVSA ADI Registrar by emailing: instructorconduct@dvsa.gov.uk
